Lviv has largely escaped the onslaught of "russian aviation". That term refers to russian cowards directing drones and missiles onto civilian homes from safe distance, more often than not at 5am. It's not even war, it's pathetic.
Lviv in War is an invitation to come to Lviv and see evidence of russian war crimes at first hand.
There are many places that are a testament to the reality of russia's "special military operation". Ukrainian families killed in their homes while they slept, Ukrainian children under the rubble.
It is beyond important to show the world that russia attacks parts of Ukraine that are nowhere near the territory they lay claim to. Journalists are especially welcome on Lviv in War.
Lviv in War is a free tour for obvious reasons, not the least of which being respect. Contributions to your guide on the day are accepted but not mandatory. The purpose of Lviv in War is to inform and that is all.
Is it safe to visit Lviv? If truth be told, inbound tourism is but a fragment of it's former self. While Lviv old town looks like any other European historic centre, the people milling about are mostly Ukrainian. Displaced persons, locals, and a smattering of foreigners, most of whom are volunteers.
The bizarre part is that everything looks and feels normal. Russian weapons can and do reach Lviv, albeit very rarely. This is when alerts on Telegram must be taken seriously.
When something in the sky approaches Lviv, go to the basement. The two dozen civilians killed in Lviv since 2022 didn't react quickly enough to warnings.
We always have a matter of minutes to move, it's comfortable and has become second nature. Be sensible and Lviv is as safe as anywhere else.
Keep in mind the fact that Islamic terrorism in Europe and the United Kingdom poses a significantly greater threat to personal safety than anything russian that lands in Lviv.
