TOUR OVERVIEW
Lviv to Odesa visits the commercial port and resort city of Odesa that has been targeted by russian warships since 2022. What russia targets in Odesa is uniformly non-military sites such as grain storage facilities and civilian homes. The former exacerbates the world food crises in Africa and Asia, while the latter is nothing less than more war crimes.
Most wanted russian war criminals dmitry peskov and maria zakharova are wheeled out by putin every time russia destroys a civilian apartment building, claiming without evidence that it was a "military installation". A Ukrainian military installation in russian language means a home, a school, a hospital or recreation centre.
russia has bombed port facilities in and around Odesa on many occasions, foreign-flagged vessels have been damaged and port workers killed. Odesa residents are terrorized by Shahed-136 and Geran-2 combat drones on a regular basis. While we have such aerial threats over Lviv from time to time, the risks here are significantly less than in Odesa.
At time of writing, the Historic Centre of Odesa is on the UNESCO World Heritage danger list because of russia. There is no justification for destroying a UNESCO World Heritage site.
